Ragnar is a 68-metre explorer converted by Icon Yachts from a Norwegian support vessel and relaunched in 2019, an ice-class adventure yacht with genuine character. She sleeps twelve across seven cabins behind a robust, purposeful exterior and a theatrical, medieval-themed interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon. She sits in the sweet spot of expedition charter: seriously capable, richly characterful and priced below the newest purpose-built explorers, which has made her a distinctive and popular choice.
On board
Her seven suites include two convertible aft-facing master suites and four doubles, warm and robust rather than delicate. The Viking-inspired interior is a genuine talking point, layered with texture and drama, and the yacht carries a leisure centre with a sauna, cold plunge pool and a snow room, kit built for the cold latitudes she was made to explore. A crew of thirteen, comfortable in remote waters, run the programme with expedition know-how.
On deck & in the water
Her capability is serious: a submarine and helicopter stored aboard, a swimming pool and jacuzzi, expedition tenders and an ice-strengthened hull that opens Norwegian fjords and Arctic waters. The toys and layout turn a charter into a true expedition, diving deep, flying over wilderness, or landing on remote shores, while the spa and pool keep her comfortable in warmer grounds. She adapts convincingly from the Arctic to the Caribbean.
Why she books
Ragnar books because she offers real explorer capability with unforgettable character, a Viking longship reimagined as a luxury yacht. Guests planning Norwegian or Arctic adventures, and those who want a distinctive yacht with a story for a warm-water winter, seek her out. Her striking design, serious toys and rate below newer explorers keep her one of the most talked-about and sought-after adventure yachts on the market.
